My mum lived in Yeadon all her child life and when she was 21 she gave birth to me Erica. As a
single mum she worked two jobs to support me and in my eyes she did a very good job.
When she was 28 ish she met my 'step' father who i do call dad and had another child called Kurt
then got married. Shortly after we all moved to Otley where dad was from.
Mum became ill after havin kurt and was unable to work.
We moved in to a house where we built a room downstairs and bathroom for her as walking upstairs
became a struggle.
In february 2002 my mum lost her mum my nana, my mum didnt cry much but shortly after she became ill
and within a year and a month my mum made a hard decision to come home to die and not in hospital,
as she knew it was time and wanted to be with her children and husband and family.
Mum was home for two weeks before passing away but one wish she had was to see mothers day through
as she couldnt bare the thought of us not seeing her with it only been couple of days away. Two days
after mothers day she passed away after we all woke up and told her we loved her.
This was the most heart breaking thing i have ever had to deal with and same for my brother who was
only 11 and my dad his first love.
I know now my mum isnt hurting or crying in pain and although i want her back and to be able to
cuddle her i wouldnt ever put her through the pain she went through at all.
All i can say for others out there who may loose their mum, it doesnt matter wat age you are it
still hurts the same, but even though you think you wont ever get over it, its not about that at all
cos you dont ever get over it you learn to deal with the pain you feel.
